Would you travel to my wedding destination
outside New England?
|
| |
Absolutely! Just email us for a quote
based on airfare, lodging and a mid-sized
rental car
|
| |
|
|
|
What is your style?
|
| |
Our style would be described as photojournalistic.
It is your day; we are there to capture
the story, not to stage it. In order
to do so, we are quiet observers who
anticipate the moments before they occur.
This allows us to capture the natural
expressions at just the precise moment,
without the stiffness of typical posed
pictures.
|
| |
|
|
|
Do you photograph color or black-and-white?
|
| |
Coverage is tailored to your style:
some couples prefer all black and white,
some prefer to mix in some color, and
some prefer all color. During our interview
we’ll discuss what suits your
personality.
|
| |
|
|
|
What kind of cameras do you use?
|
| |
We use top of the line Canon digital cameras and accessories. At every wedding we employ a variety of state of the art Canon professional lenses, both zoom and prime. We always carry back up equipment to every event, including cameras, lenses, and multiple flash systems. For two-photographer packages we typically have 4-6 cameras between the two of us. All of them are
very quiet cameras well-suited to the
wedding ceremony environment.
You can read TheKnot.com’s discussion
on the topic of digital photography.

|
|
Do you require a meal?
|
| |
Yes, please. It’s hard to work
long hours without food, especially
lifting 10+ pounds of camera and lens
combinations in our hands the whole
time (often with a few more pounds in
our shoulder bags). For two-photographer
packages, we take turns to eat, so that
even during the meal break, one of us
can follow you as you go around tables
toasting guests; those natural photo
ops produce much more relaxed images
than stiff poses.
|
| |
|
|
|
How long do you spend with the bride
before the ceremony?
|
| |
In order to capture as much of the
sentiment and nuance of the bridal preparation
as possible, we would need one and a
half hours before the bride departs
for the ceremony. This will allow time
for some bridal portraits beforehand,
if desired.
|
| |
|
|
|
Will you take some portraits of
me with my family?
|
| |
Yes, we’ll gather a few groupings
either before or after the ceremony
(your preference). If you won’t
be seeing each other before the wedding,
we’ll still take individual pictures
(bride and groom separately) and wedding
party shots (bride w/ bridesmaids and
groom w/ groomsmen) beforehand and leave
portraits of you two together, family
portraits and the entire wedding party
for after the ceremony.
|
| |
|
|
|
How much time should we plan for
portraits?
|
| |
Not including any travel time, we’d
like to spend about 20-30 minutes with
the bride and groom after the ceremony
and 30-40 minutes for other desired
portraits (with respective families
& wedding party). Let everyone you
would like a portrait with know when
& where to meet. We are able to
work more efficiently if we are the
only photographer for those portraits,
we suggest setting aside 20 minutes
for the shutterbugs in your family :)
|
| |
|
|
|
Do you need a list of desired shots?
|
| |
No, We appreciate the effort that goes
into compiling those 3 page long lists!
However, they usually hinder us from
creating a story book of your day because
we’re too busy marking off the
square next to Uncle Harry’s portrait
and then searching for the next item
on the list – leaving us unable
to concentrate on what’s *really*
the focus of the day and missing so
many important images. What’s
most helpful is a very detailed schedule
of the day. If you want pictures with
a specific relatives or friend, just
spend some time chatting with him/her
during reception, chances are that we
will get pictures of you with them,
captured in a natural and relaxed moment.
Of course, you can always call upon
us to take any particular picture on
the day.
|
| |
|
|
|
How many photos will you take?
|
| |
We never limit the amount of photos
we take. For two-photographer packages,
we typically capture about 1200 to 2000
frames. We pick 200-500 of the best
to make individual 4x6 and 4x5 proof
prints. For print orders and albums,
you can also choose from the full proof
set with 1200-2000 (for two photographer
package) images on CD, which makes browsing
and picking from such a large catalog
of pictures much easier.

| |
|
|
|
Will I be able to order pictures
online?
|
| |
Your friends and family will be able
to see and order your wedding photos
online on a password-protected website,
depending on which package you choose.
|
| |
|
|
|
Will you visit my site before the
wedding?
|
| |
If we have not photographed your wedding
and reception venues, we will visit
your sites, typically a month ahead
of time.
|
| |
|
|
|
When do you deliver the proofs?
|
| |
Typically the proofs are delivered
within 6 to 8 weeks.
|
| |
|
|
|
Will you help us select photos for
our album?
|
| |
Yes. We are available to provide artistic
advice. In fact, it would be our pleasure to choose the photographs for your album. By giving us artistic freedom, we will use our years of experience to create a beautiful record of the day.
|
| |
|
|
|
We want you to photograph our wedding,
what’s next?
|
| |
We’d love to meet you and show
you our portfolio as well as learn about
your wedding plans and ideas. If you
choose to retain our services, a retainer
and signed contract are required to
hold the date.
